Looking after your needs
Once inside, the building itself is pretty darn good for accessibility with disabled toilets, Changing Places facilities, lifts, and a portable induction loop. See The Public’s accessibility page for full details.
The Public aims to be very family friendly too.
It seems as though The Public’s staff are trained and amenable – we haven’t put this to the test ourselves with wheelchairs or toddlers, but we do frequently make our own random requests! We’re not staff as such, but we’re friendly too and if you’re got any particular needs or questions we’ll do our best to sort things out or find things out for you.
Bike Parking
There are Sheffield stands directly outside The Public. Since several of our events may involve cycle fettling, please check individual event pages for arrangements to bring your steeds inside.
By Metro
A five minute walk (about 500 metres) from West Bromwich Central tram station, the Metro serves as a quick and easy way to get to The Public from Birmingham City Centre or Wolverhampton (approximately 15 minutes from Birmingham and Wolverhampton).

By Bus
The Public is just around the corner from West Bromwich bus station, a hub for buses from across the West Midlands. 300 metres – about a 5 minute walk.

By Train
Sandwell & Dudley Railway Station, on the West Coast mainline, is situated between West Bromwich and Oldbury, just a five minute bus or taxi ride to The Public.
By Car
A mile from Junction 1 of the M5, The Public is easily accessibly by car.
There is disabled parking on New Street adjacent to The Public along with a drop off point at the entrance to the building. See The Public’s accessibility page for full details about disabled parking.
You can download a map of nearby car parks from here. The closest locations are the Queen’s Square multistorey and the Cronehills Linkway (near the new Tesco’s development). Tariff information can be found here. Parking in the Cronehills Linkway site is free after 6pm.
